Take a rider course—Get skills test waived
If you are applying for, or interested in applying for, a cycle license,
we strongly recommend that you complete a cycle rider course (under certain
circumstances, a rider course is required). The Motorcycle Rider Course:
Riding and Street Skills (basic rider course) is designed for beginning riders.
The course was developed, and the instructors are certified by the Motorcycle
Safety Foundation and approved by the Department of Transportation.
The course is taught off-street, out of traffic, and motorcycles and
