Description under Plastic repair methods GTI front bumper cover, assembly overview / 11 Volkswagen Golf 5 Front bumper (GTI) Cover Material PP/EPDM Removing and installing 63-2, GTI front bumper cover, removing and installing Screw 1.5 Nm Screw Qty. 4 per side 2 Nm Screw / 11 Front bumper (GTI) Qty. 8 1.5 Nm Screw Qty. 2 5 Nm GTI front bumper cover, removing and installing Note: Due to model variations, small deviations must be considered during removal and installation. Removing / 11 Front bumper (GTI) Remove radiator grille: 66-3, GTI radiator grille, removing Remove bolts 5 . Remove bolts 4 from below. Unscrew bolts 3 and 2 (pointing upward) in area of left and right wheelhousing liners. A second technician is required for the rest of the removal procedure. With a second technician, pull cover 1 parallel out of guide profiles. Disconnect harness connectors of installed electrical components and hoses. Installing Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Protective molding can be carefully released from locking mechanisms using a plastic wedge from outside and removed. / 11 Front bumper (GTI) Left vent grille Removing: Screw 1.5 Nm Upper part of spoiler Material PC/ABS Locked to cover. Only to be removed with bumper removed and lower part of spoiler unscrewed. Lower part of spoiler Material PC/ABS Screwed to the upper part of spoiler and noise insulation. Screw 7x 1.5 Nm Center ventilation grid Can only be removed with radiator grille removed. Center of vent grille can be carefully loosened from latches from outside with a plastic wedge and removed. Remove screw 4 Starting at front arrow a , loosen from locking tabs, then remove from cover toward center of vehicle arrow b . / 11 Front bumper (GTI) Right vent grille Removing: Right protective molding Material PP/EPDM Locked to cover. Protective molding can be carefully released from locking mechanisms using a plastic wedge from outside and removed. Remove screw 4 Starting at front arrow a , loosen from locking tabs, then remove from cover toward center of vehicle arrow b . Front bumper, substructure / 11 Front bumper (GTI) Left air guide Locked to lock carrier. Left guide piece Bolted to lock carrier.
