The education offers a general pedagogical qualification forteaching at all educational levels. The extent of vocational teacher education is 60 credits points (35credit units). It includes studies in the basics of educational sciences and in vocational pedagogyand a teaching practice among other studies.Further information on the modes of study and their implementation is available on the Internet siteof HAAGAHELIA School of Vocational Teacher Education at www.haagahelia.fi and JyvskylUniversity of Applied Sciences Teacher Education College at www.jamk.fi/aokk.Application periodThe application period for vocational teacher education institutions is from 8 January to 31 January2007. Please submit the carefully and fully completed application with copies of certificates andother appendices by31January 2007 at 4.15 p.m. Late applications will not be considered.Entry requirementAccording to Act 356/2003 a person with the education and work experience required for a teachingpost at a polytechnic or an institute of vocational education can be admitted to vocational teachereducation.Qualification Requirements for Polytechnic Teachers (Act 351/2003 and Decree 352/2003)To be qualified for a principal lecturer’s position at a polytechnic one must have a relevantlicentiate’s or doctoral postgraduate degree.
