Developing a consistent approach to diagnosis in the area ofproblem behaviour is thus fraught with difficulty andnot without controversy since many problems or disorders are hard to define and assign to a single medicalcondition or syndrome.Some of the approaches to assessment and diagnosisare summarised in Box 1.
