Powerdyne Automotive Products Inc. Installation Instructions 1998-2002 Z-28 Camaro,LS-1 engine base kit (4.psi) & full kit (6. psi). This manual is intended for the installation of the Powerdyne Supercharger Kits, P/Ns K10505 (4. psi) & K10386 (6. psi) on 1998 2002 Z-28 Camaros with the LS-1 engine. This kit will also fit 1998 2002 Z-28 and SS Camaros that are equipped with a ram air system. These kits are designed to be 50 state street legal and as of the writing of this manual C.A.R.B. exemption is pending. These kits already comply with EPA Memorandum 1-A, making them legal for 49 state usage, providing that EPA Memorandum 1-A is not superseded by your local or state regulations. It is very important that these instructions be followed exactly. Premium unleaded fuel with an octane rating of 92 or higher must be used with this Supercharger. Failure to use the proper fuel may cause detonation (pinging) and severe engine damage. Never change the Supercharger pulley or crank pulley as this will automatically void the warranty! To help you with your installation, read each entire step before starting with that step. While reading these instructions you will come across some steps that are for the 6. psi kit only. These will be identified by the phrase (6psi only). You do not need to follow these steps if you are installing the base 4psi kit unless otherwise noted. Only install this kit on a cold engine with 0 (zero) fuel pressure to avoid injury and possible damage. Make sure you have a chemical fire extinguisher handy at all times and especially when installing any part of a fuel system. Do Not install any fuel system, or break open any fuel lines in an enclosed area or near any source of heat or flame. STEP 1. Disconnect the battery ground cable (negative) and release pressure in fuel tank by removing cap. Unplug wire connector at air temp sensor and MAF meter. Remove air intake bellows and MAF meter from throttle body. Remove air temp sensor from air intake assembly and set aside for later usage. Remove four 10mm bolts from air filter housing and remove entire assembly. Drain about one gallon of coolant from radiator. Enough to allow for upper radiator hose removal. STEP 2. Disconnect and remove electric fan assembly from underneath car. STEP 3. Remove factory water pump belt. Remove the factory belt tensioner pulley and install the pulley provided with kit. STEP 4. Install electric fans provided in the kit in the area in front of a/c condenser (FIG. 1)(Note fan blades have already been reversed at POWERDYNE factory). Install wiring harness supplied in kit(FIG.2). STEP 5. Locate and remove two alternator bolts. Remove idler pulley located just above alternator on support bracket.
