The latest information is that both Windows Vista and Office 2007 will be available for purchase at the IU Kokomo bookstore in May 2007. Deployment Plan Month/Year Microsoft Office 2007 Microsoft Windows Vista February 2007 Compatibility Phase IT staff will install Office 2007 on their computers to become familiar with it and to develop services and support.
The Office 2007 Compatibility Pack for Office 2003 will be rolled out to all computers on campus. Office 2007 will be available to faculty, staff and students for download from the IUWare website. IT will install Office 2007 on faculty and staff computers upon request. No training and only limited support will be available for Office 2007. Testing Phase IT staff will install Windows Vista on their computers to become familiar with it and to develop services and support. IT will build a test machine with Windows Vista and all the other packages in the current, standard build in order to test and verify that software works with Windows Vista.
This test machine will be available to faculty and staff for testing. IT staff will install Windows Vista on a limited number of faculty and staff computers. No training and only limited support will be available for Windows Vista. An OnCourse site will be established for the posting of problems and questions. March 2007 April 2007 May 2007 Training Phase Office 2007 CDs will be available to faculty, staff and students at the IU Kokomo bookstore.
IT will install Office 2007 on a Testing/Early Adoption Phase IT will continue testing Windows Vista. Windows Vista CDs will be available to faculty, staff and students at the June 2007 Microsoft Office 2007 and Microsoft Windows Vista Deployment Plan Tuesday, April 17, 2007 of 5 Month/Year Microsoft Office 2007 Microsoft Windows Vista July 2007 faculty and staff computers upon request. CTLA will provide Office 2007 training to faculty and staff. IU Kokomo bookstore IT will install Windows Vista on faculty and staff computers upon request provided the requestors computer is capable of running the software.
The OnCourse site will remain available for the posting of problems and questions. CTLA will provide limited Windows Vista support to faculty and staff. Windows Vista support will not be available to students.
