Page 2Materials 62 by 14 inch scarf Sewing machine Matching thread Pins Iron Scissors Ruler GlossaryRide side: The part of the hat scarf you would like to show on the outside Wrong side: Reverse of right side Backstitching: Sew two or three stitches reverse machine stitching stitch two or three stitches back and then go forward again Basting stitches: Long stitches made by hand or machine to hold down the fabric in place Zigzag: A stitch that forms a Z pattern. Adjust settings on the machine for a zigzag stitch. Press: To move the iron in an up and down motion on fabric for 3 seconds at a time to flatten fabric or make a crease Key to DiagramsPage 3InstructionsStep 1 Fold the scarf in half down the middle so that the right sides are together.
