Externally the S2000 gets restyled front and rear bumpers a polished finish on the fivespoke alloy wheels chrome taillight surrounds and a heated glass rear window in the hood in lieu of plastic. Inside theres now a metallic silver finish on several components storage nets in the doors and additional noise insulation in the gearbox tunnel. The 8stack CD stereo system that wasadded in January 2001 now gets two tweeterslocated in the driver and passenger doors.Mechanical changes are limited to the suspension. Honda says the S2000s suspension has been retuned for extra stability at high speedby reducing the front and rear sway bar diametersand increasing the front and rear spring rates. The damper settings have also been revised.The S2000 still comes in just the one manualonly model and it costs $74990. Thatsunchanged from the 2001 version but the price has crept up by $5000 since the S2000 was first released. The only options listed are a hardtop for $6562 and metallic paint for $259. Though the S2000 is focussed on performance and handling it doesnt skimp on equipment.
