Higher Education Challenge Grants ProgramPage 1Higher Education ChallengeGrants ProgramPurposeThe Higher Education Challenge (HEC) Grants Program is designed to improve teaching programs in the food and agricultural sciences by enhancing curricula increasing faculty teaching competencies and encouraging student experiential learning opportunities in response to identified State regional national or international educational needs.Awards$150000 to $500000. A grant recipient is required to match the USDA funds awarded on a dollarfordollar basis from nonFederal sources.
