BlueTooth Security
Short summary:
Hacking into these phones using Bluetooth Some of the practices employed to protect. Bluetooth devices are mentioned below. ...
Long summary:it was later developed into the Bluetooth technology we know today by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG), an industry association which was announced in May 1998 and formally founded in September 1998. Bluetooth technology is also intended to be secure by providing authentication, encryption, quality of service (QoS) control and other security features. However, it will be shown that Bluetooth is vulnerable in a number of ways, opening the door for many malicious attacks now and in the future. The technology seems to be very interesting and beneficial, yet it can also be a high threat for the privacy and security of Bluetooth users. This paper will give a brief introduction on the inception of Bluetooth technology. The various standards implemented in Bluetooth security and details about the architecture itself. This paper answers the question of why there is a need for Bluetooth security? The various types of attacks a Bluetooth device can encounter will also be discussed. The measures taken to counter such attacks will be presented in this paper. The different perspective of security when Bluetooth technology is used in sensitive devices such as Robots and cars will be looked at. This paper will look into the future and see what holds for Bluetooth technology and what new issues of security will arise. I. A B RIEF I NTRODUCTION he Bluetooth wireless technology is a short-range communications technology intended to replace the cables connecting portable and/or fixed devices while maintaining high levels of security.
